The Middle Eastern and African Arbitration Review 2023 – Angola

Frederico de Távora Pedro, Filipe Vaz Pinto and Ricardo do Nascimento Ferreira signed the Angola chapter of the guide "The Middle Eastern and African Arbitration Review 2023 - Angola". A publication of the Global Arbitration Review (GAR).

"As one of the fastest growing economies in the first two decades of the 21st century, Angola has become one of the most attractive destinations for foreign investment. However, its exponential growth since the early 2000s has not been fully accompanied by the development of a fast and effective judicial system. Moreover, because of this fact, a culture more favourable to arbitration has been, and still is, under development in the Angolan legal culture. In this article, the authors demonstrate some of the means by which the development of this culture is being achieved and provide the reader with an overview of the achievements and difficulties that arbitration has faced since the entry into force of the Voluntary Arbitration Law in 2003."
